About the role:

The Project Leader (PL) is the person assigned by the organization to lead the team who will be responsible for achieving project objectives. The PL will plan, manage and facilitate the execution of development projects within the company and with our customers, coordinating people and processes to ensure that projects are delivered on time and with the desired results. The PL is the go-to person for everything involving a project's organization, timeline and development until the project is delivered and closed.

The Project Leader will work directly with business leadership, innovation, purchasing, planning, logistics, quality assurance, legal, marketing, sales and a variety of internal business partners and external vendors to drive product development across the supply chain. The Project Leader will identify, implement and organize projects across cross-functional teams to develop strategies and timelines after the Ideation and Scouting phases are complete. The person in this role will manage project close-out activities and conduct Lessons Learned.

 

The responsibilities associated to this role are:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for execution of projects from original concept to final implementation. Assist in the definition of project scope and objective, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility and business viability.
  • Develop the business model Canvas at the beginning of each project. Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress. Create a streamlined structure that drives project visibility to senior leadership. Manage changes to the project scope, timeline and budget.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation by identifying deliverables. Ensure project team activities and decisions are clearly communicated, documented and archived, and act as a primary contact for project team related information. Manage internal and external project communication tools.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques; analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals. Define KPI's at the beginning of each project in the business model Canvas.
  • Develop solutions to problems that arise that align with strategic direction and company standards. Actively seek ways to enhance and strengthen the company's supply chain and operations.
  • Stay informed on company-wide projects and pro-actively manage potential conflicts or lack of resources, working with leadership to prioritize projects.

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in project management or being on a project team. PMP certification and SAP experience preferred.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Soft skills are especially important communication, leadership, time management, problem solving, collaboration, organization.
  • Must be able to work through conflict with colleagues and bring individuals together as a team, working towards a common goal.
  • Multi-tasking is often required to perform essential job functions, such as facilitating a meeting while assigning tasks and due dates, while also recording relevant information and decisions that were made.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.
  • Good eye for graphic and information design.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers, email, common office machinery and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands. Meticulous planning and organization with a passion for systems and processes. Thorough documentation and communication.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and to pro-actively work to resolve them.
  • Staying calm under pressures of deadlines, changing requirements and multiple stakeholders with different priorities.
  • Act as a team leader and role model to the larger project team.
